Doesn't anyone have ideas of stopping this? (besides throwing stars or shotguns)

I don't watch or know anything about racing, but does NASCAR fine drivers who do this?

Sure. You are suspended for the season. Some idiot may tempt it, but that's the only way you'd get these guys to not lose their minds on a regular basis.

I would think a ban from race for the cup, or w/e the **** it's called, would wake people up more than a simple 2 race suspension.

Attending the safety meeting in the pits were mandatory when I was racing. And every single time it was made perfectly clear that you are never to get out of your car while on the track unless it was on fire.
Never ever get out for any reason other than fire.

Too bad the kid didn't just stay in his car and settle it in the pits like we did.

That being said, it certainly looks like it was pretty much Stewarts fault. The second you hit the gas on one of those cars, on a banked dirt track the ass end is going to slide to the outside (right). No way Stewart doesn't know that.
He may have intended to throw dirt all over the kid and just hit the gas a split second too soon. That would make more sense than intentionally running over him.

Meh. I don't even know anything about the Ray Rice ordeal.

The sickest thing is that Stewart still plans to race tomorrow

This. I don't know about y'all, but if a person died because of my actions I wouldn't be able to go to work the next day, let alone race a car. Tony has to be one sick human being.

He is the team owner, it is too much money to give up. Too many points to give up. Also if things go bad it could be one of his last races
