All I know is I liked it a bit more than than Omega Man, which is fine by me. |
I think you'd dig the novel version of I am Legend, Tim, if you could ever get your hands on it.

One thing I will agree with the critics of I Am Legend about is the cheesy CGI vampire/zombie things. They did NOT look real. I guess the special effects guys shot their wads on the empty city effects. That aspect was incredibly well done, so I guess it kind of balanced out. |
Clover field has got to be the worst movie plot ever. Especially if there isn't going to be a sequel.

The internet stuff is MUCH more important than what you watch on the screen. Big or little. Cloverfield was clearly meant for the net-teen audience that could follow every facebook/myspace/google hint out in a press release... |

On a side note has anyone noticed the roles Ed Norton has chosen? They all follow the same template: man is angry, man loses out to anger, man suffers for his anger, man understands his weakness and mistakes, man suffers for his poor decisions. American History X, Fight Club, The Illusionist, Hulk (2.0), etc... |
I've now had a week to ponder No Country For Old Men and its ending. Sorry, but I'm still in the SUCKS ASS AND RUINED THE FILM camp.
The only problem I had with Fargo was the completely pointless, asinine subplot about the oriental guy's crush on the pregnant sheriff. What was the point of that? Seriously, what was the point? It had no bearing on anything in the rest of the story. At all. It would be like a subplot in the The Godfather where Michael banters with his dentist. There would be no point to it. But this was only a small flaw in an otherwise excellent movie, so I let it go. The Coens go off on their tangents. I can accept that. UNLESS THE TANGENT THEY GO OFF ON RUINS THE PREVIOUS HOUR AND A HALF OF EXCELLENT MOVIE. Sucked then, sucks now. I wish I'd never watched it. I really wish I'd never bought it. |

Ready to rent this on talk alone. Hated Fargo. Dog$#it. I'd dig up a dead mole, find what it ate 3 days ago and swallow it with glee before suffering that garbage of a flick again. Now I know I don't have to watch it and I can dedicate my life to more important cinema. Like the short Max Headroom series. "I keep watching it because I think there's some deeper meaning I don't get about commercialism but the-.....you wha-......just take it out honey. Yeah, you're rig-....I know. No, I won't do....Yeah. No, Maximum Overdrive isn't released on DVD yet. No. NO! I'm....bye, I'm off to the bar." |
IMO the best Coen Bros. movie continues to be Miller's Crossing.

Debate the ending, but at least join the debate. |

As long as you buy the beer and the flick and I can leave feeling ahead either way. But I'm not dishing out for something I have a gut feeling I think will leave me pissed after paying... |
