At least a week, but it might be best not to push beyond that.

what length of the contracts?

ThaVirus 09-16-2013 09:12 PM

Thanks, Rain Man. I'm looking to take a couple days to decide the best length-of-contracts given my limited amounts of cash and number of holes. I'll need a bunch of cash to pick up starters in free agency.

I just took a gander, but it appears you can sign them to anywhere from 1-7 year contracts.

Not sure I understand your question, but let me take a guess:

On the "manage roster" page is where you sign your contracts. The chart at the top of the page shows the cost of signing various length contracts for rookies drafted in various rounds. You have a bankroll which you can see on your manage roster page. That is the fund for both signing rookies and free agents, so invest wisely.

1 to 7 years. It's your choice.

Go to the "Manage Roster" selection on the menu. You'll see three groups of players:

the players already under contract, showing their remaining contract length.

rookies who need to be signed, who have a "tier" that is their draft round, preceded by an R. For example, R1 is a first-round rookie.

veterans not under contract. You can sign up to two of these guys to retain them prior to the rookie draft, but you have to give them a 5+ year contract. You cannot sign them at this point (we appear to have a little glitch that shows them being signable, but don't sign them).

At the top of that page you'll see your balance of available contract dollars, along with two tables. The first is the cost to re-sign a veteran and the second is the cost to sign a rookie. The veteran cost table also serves the purpose of giving a player a contract length if you sign him during the bidding process that is coming up.

I have Jah Reid listed as a TE.....but he's really an OT. How do I get this changed?

You don't. But it will probably be changed automatically if he ends up playing LT or RT more than TE this season. I have Zach Strief. He was initially listed as a TE iirc, but now he's listed as a RT because that's what he played last year.

I don't see where he's ever been listed as a TE.....except in Sandbox.

If he was a backup tackle, it's possible that most of his snaps were played as a blocking tight end on the goal line, so he got classified that way.

Sign your rookies! Sign your rookies!

Before the games on Sunday I will lock any unsigned rookies into a 4 year contract by default.

Free agency will also start on Sunday. Free agents that play on the Panthers, Chiefs and Seahawks will be available.

If those free agents are currently on our team, can we offer them contracts or do we have to wait until somebody else bids?
