Broxton's hit 96 a couple of times I've seen him throw.

The problem is that he normally straightens out badly at top speed and really should be around 98. Moreover, he's backing it up and appears to be overthrowing to hit 96. He threw a strikeout pitch against the Mariners that came in chest high at 96, but had some funky run to it that Broxton normally just doesn't have. I don't think he has any ability to command that pitch at those speeds and may well get tatooed if it tries it when it matters.

Broxton's new normal may well be at 94 mph, that's where most of what I saw him throw was coming in at. Now that's still damn fast, but he doesn't have the movement to live there for long.

Long-term, Holland should be their guy if his arm stays together (lots of sliders for a little guy). But I guess they could use Broxton for long enough to build up his trade value and move him for a decent 2b prospect.

Ultimately I'm getting the sinking feeling that the Royals want Broxton to take the 9th and are going to pray that he runs with it.

I got back from the game at the white sox. Chen did not look great. Butler hit a freaking bomb.

A few pictures, George Brett handed in our lineup card, and I tried to get a batting shot of Christian Colon, but he got a hit while I was focusing.

I love that rust color of that stadium

We have a ChiefsPlanet fantasy league that some of you are already signed up for. We currently have 8 or 9 teams, and need another 1 to 3 teams to have a full league. $25 entry, Yahoo head to head league. Draft is Monday night at 8 pm. PM me if you're interested.

Soria has elected to have TJ surgery.

Pretty foregone conclusion at this point, but I guess it's official now.

Bummer.

And Eric Hosmer plans to play right field 3 or 4 times the remainder of this spring.

I can already see the injury

No baseball for me today. Climbed to the top of Camelback Mountain and got a few pictures of the Valley of the Sun.

Climbed it a few years ago when KU played in the Insight Bowl. Awesome workout. I felt like a chump though, as I watched kids/old men/women/etc. jogging up and down the mountain like it was nothing.

I absolutely hate the White Sox\Dodgers facility. The tickets are extremely priced along with everything else and the way they built the stadium sucks. It's like they didn't build it with enough of an incline to see over the person sitting in front of you.

No joke. I was beating myself up that damned thing, taking frequent breaks, and every once in a while you see a child with his parents marching up, or maybe a dog, or some really old 50's or maybe 60's hardbodies who were probably fit their whole lives, all just moving along like it was no big deal.
