Donaldson would help

but no not even close to the best lineup. Better than last year but thats about it.

O.city 12-13-2017 12:50 PM

With all the guys they're gonna ship out for whoever, why not just send it to Baltimore for Manny?

The contract obviously is the issue there but ****.

Rumors surrounding the Cards suggest they may still go after Longoria or Donaldson.

That lineup might be the best in the bigs 1-8 if they make a deal for one of them.

No to Longoria, we would be trading and PAYING for his declining years. I would rather stick with Gyorko than give up more pitching depth for Longoria.

I suspect the Rays are trying to get us to take him as a package for Colome. I don't mind Colome at the right price, but honestly would rather they resign Nicasio as a stop gap to start the season and then look within the organization to groom our own closer within. Depending on who is left (Hudson, Hicks, etc.).

Everyone here wants to trade Longiria before his vAlue declines even more. But, they love him down here. Always hustling, interacting with fans in public, does a lot of community charity work. And has a very hot wife.

If they'll eat a majority of his contract, sure I'll take him.

Read something where the Marlins were seeking MLB experience and a pitching prospect. Grichuk and Alcantara would fit bill but I would have to seriously question the Marlins motives if they didnt get Flaherty or someone else in the deal.

Decimating the best OF in baseball last year and the best thing to come out of it would be Starlin Castro, Alcantara, and salary savings. That would raise some eyebrows if I was an investor.

Goold of the Post-Dispatch clears up the Piscotty trade rumors. Says Piscotty wants to be back in the Bay Area to be closer to his mother who has ALS. That makes more sense if the Cardinals do that.

Kansas City loves Alex Gordon. St. Louis loves Yadi. It's same type deal with Longiria down in the Tampa area I'm sure. Doesn't mean you would want to go deal for either of those two.

Rosenthal reporting that the Cardinals after Stanton deal was declined by Stanton, wanted to trade for Ozuna not Yelich. Didn't say why.

Probably because they didn't want to give up Reyes and Kelly for Yelich.

oh I agree. Just pointing out that still love the guy as a player and person down here in Tampa.

More of a run producer than Yelich.

Cards were looking for a 4/5 hitter. Yelich profiles more as a conventional 2/3.

And obviously the prospect cost was probably relevant as well.

Yeah, that was first reported when the rumors started a week or so ago.

Doesn't mean that the Cardinals should feel compelled to oblige him at the expense of their organization.

The problem now is that he's buried and the guys they should be moving (Carpenter and Fowler) aren't guys they're willing to move. So he can't do anything to rehabilitate his value in STL.

So Mozeliak will dump him just to get his salary off the books, even though it's pretty much a pittance for the next 2-3 years.

ChiefsCountry 12-13-2017 01:23 PM

Ozuna is buddies with Carlos Martinez and was friends with Taveres.
