Agreed. The SEC would never add any teams that could actually beat them.

Based on what I've seen here, you're actually ignorant enough to be an Arkansas fan. Are you sure you didn't just drop the "Ar" when you moved to New York?

Wickedson just creamed his Panties, with all this 3RD Tier talk!!!

Big 12 signed its new TV contract with ABC/ESPN.

Looks like this will bump up the per school payout to $20MM for first and second tier. Last year the SEC paid out $19.5MM per school and is renegotiating its deal after adding A&M and Mizzou.

A little underwhelming after hearing some of the lofty numbers that have been floated around, but still better than the ACC's deal (around $15MM). I wonder if this is enough to get FSU and Clemson to jump.

Lol at what they're giving a 10 team league. Wow

I heard something recently that makes a lot of sense to me. Can't remember where... local radio, I think.

With the advent of DVR's, Netflix, Hulu, torrents, etc... advertisers can't be sure their ads are being seen on general tv programming.

The one form of entertainment on television where they can be 99% sure they are, is live sporting events. Hence the boom in TV contracts. Sports are the one thing that I always want to see as it happens. "I'll catch it later" is never an option.

Very true.

Advertising during TV shows...I don't even consider. But there's a reason why you get "Call of Duty Black Ops 2" ads during the NBA Playoffs every year. Sports are a mandated live viewing event.

ummmm, you're not considering third tier. This is what the Big 12 lives on. Making the earning potential pretty much unlimited.

One might not agree with it but it sure is American!

Well, they've got to find some way to entice new members to join that poisonous pile of shit.

In the past two years, four teams have bailed, and four others have attempted to bail. Were it not for a Pac-12 moment of clarity, the Big XII would be the Forgotten V.

lol indeed LMAO

Totally agree. I've been screaming this for months.

I would take FSU obviously but the second team is a real challenge. ND would be your game changer of course.... would they like to join up with the "Catholics vs Convicts" again?

Otherwise you choose between Clemson, Louisville, UNC?, Duke?

lol, Clemson. Hell NC State is more attractive than UNC or Duke.

I'd take UNC over any of them. They are so much more prominent it's not even comparable.

NC State and Virginia Tech have been linked to the SEC in multiple rumors. Not so much with UNC or Duke. I wonder why that is?

The contract has automatic escalators if quality schools are added in an expansion. If the FSU/Clemson rumors pan out, we're at about 24. Then the conference championship game is worth at least another 2 million per, putting it at 26. Finally, everyone owns their tier 3 rights, and most schools worth a damn can get at least 4. So, basically if the Big 12 picks off 2 good schools from the ACC, they are all in the $30 million club.
