Considering that the tickets aren't going unsold, but simply unused...no. That doesn't even make sense. In fact, I'd advise Alabama's football program to ignore any advice from Kansas and its fans.

I'm reading the System right now and the Tenn chapter is pretty good. The rampant violations and crimes under Kiffin are very entertaining.

Seems to be par for the course in the SEC however. Hard to even call it sport down there.

It's hard to call Kansas football a sport, too. What chapter talks about Tennessee's probation, sanctions, etc.? That's the part I want to read. I remember some football coaches getting fired in disgrace recently, but they were from the Big 12. I remember allegations of a coach making player seat their own vomit, too...but he's still coaching in the Big 12.

I remember a player dying at a school and his coach trying to make it look like he was a drug dealer...Big 12. I remember an exposé just written up about institutional corruption at a program...in the Big 12. I remember a huge drug ring involving a bunch of football players...in the Big 12. Hell...the most sanctioned program in college sports history is in Lawrence, KS of all places.

This stuff is interesting. I can't wait to see what happens if it ever starts happening in a confence with actual titles to strip.

The discounted tickets for Austin Peay were still $23? Damn

You can get tickets to the Jayhawks next game against a ranked conference opponent for $6 (while supplies last, I'm sure).

I hear you. From what I hear though most KU fans have spent all their money on Atlantis, the Champions Classic and Jerry World. Now apparently you have to be a donor of the $10,000 of $50,000 level to get into Late Night.

Yea. In the Big 12 coaches get fired for this kind of activity.

Tennessee loved Lane Kiffin. He took a shit on the school and bolted to a real program in USC. Otherwise the Vols would still be sucking his cock.

Try and get your stories straight please.

Why are you so worried about Mizzou? Just get your own stadium filled up. Show a little pride in the fact that KU is still allowed to play D1 football for now.

The Kansas University men’s and women’s basketball teams will celebrate the beginning of the 2013-14 season a bit earlier this season, with the 29th annual Late Night in the Phog set for Friday, Oct. 4, in Allen Fieldhouse....

They moved it up this year to offset the football suckage

Be honest - Just how pissed off did it make KU fan that Missouri, a school that has "accomplished nothing for the last 100 years", got invited to the SEC, but a "storied" institution like Kansas got left flapping in the breeze? That MUST have stung.

Schools that win don't change conferences.

That's the one universal truth so far in all realignment.

I suppose Syracuse is the one exception.

Since MU left, their fans witnessed that "shit state" of Kansas produce two Final Four teams (Kansas + Wichita State) and one BCS team (K-State).

How did MU respond? First, they were totally humiliated in the greatest Vegas upset, -22.5 to Norfolk, in 30 years of the modern Tourney. In Omaha where 3/4 of the audience was KU fans roaring in laughter waiting for the next game in the pod. Their coach immediately got implicated in a (still ongoing) NCAA investigation. The next Tourney they were bounced first round by a mid-major Moutain West team (I thought KU and KSU were going there?) led by a kid from Lawrence High. The football team led by a DUI-induced coach got humiliated their first year in the SEC. And the star player was caught with marijuana. Topping it off we withheld $13m of their funds.

Honestly, the whole thing couldn't have gone much better. Or provided KU fans more belly laughs.

What else do they have? It never ceases to amaze me how fans of "football schools" constantly want to downplay KU's passion for basketball. Like it never gets any TV time, never has a highly watched finale, never has remarkable athletes who play in a popular pro league.

I don't know if they're trying to convince me or themselves, but I bet there's not a one who would trade being mediocre in both sports to be excellent in at least one of them. And make no mistake, we are excellent in one of them. Every academic year, KU is a consideration for the Final Four if not National Championship. Every year we have amazing athletes with pro potential. Every year were winning at least the conference championship.

But, I'm supposed to believe that the "football" school who hopes to be bowl eligible each year is my envy. There's only a handful of true "football schools". Everyone else is fodder for their season. Somehow, that type of prospect is supposed to make Jayhawk fans stew that we get labeled a "basketball school".

So, by all means, keep telling us how great it is to win between 7 and 9 games for the season, be just out of the BCS system, just outside of a division or conference championship, be just another team rather than be recognized as a king in "the other sport".

Yeah, we're excited for basketball season all year round. Doesn't mean we don't hope for success in the football program. If you had a program like ours, you would be excited for it all year as well.

At least be honest about it HHG - You guys are fired up for basketball year round because your football team isn't worth a shit, and when you're talking about football on a ****ing football BB, that means something.

Enjoy winning at basketball, and enjoy being ridiculed for having an embarrassingly bad football team. If the least humble KU BB fans wouldn't act like Bronco fans about Bill Self's teams, there probably wouldn't be so much shit flung at KU. JMO.

They went 2-6 in the SEC last year, barely avoiding 1-7 by beating another 1-7 team in 4OT. We'll see how they do in conf play against real teams. If it's like the last 100 years, the prognosis is terrible.

I highly doubt that. Their stadium is going to be in the upper 1/3 of BCS schools probably when it's done and with the 20M+ in conference gravy coming in each year they will have plenty of coin to hire a legit coach this time with head coaching experience. Not a Prince. Plus the Kansas juco system is actually quite fertile and attractive to coaches.

I wish I shared your optimism.

I hope KSU realizes who they are and hires a coach that doesn't stray from the original Snyder doctrine. Running QB, pass/option offense with an aggressive blitzing defense.

Even Snyder is straying from what has won for him.

They can't beat teams straight up. They simply don't have the big guys to do it.

Anyway, sorry to thread jack.

They can't beat teams straight up. They simply don't have the big guys to do it.

Anyway, sorry to thread jack.

Lets assume you're right and you suck the next 100 years. You will just be another Mizzou only that you got to enjoy good times unlike them.

For the love of God...don't blow this one, Oklahoma. I can't take watching Notre Dame steal another one at the end.

By the way, congrats on your first FCS win in a few years against La Tech. That had to feel good.

A shitty La Tech team, nonetheless.

If you had a program like ours, you would be excited for it all year as well.

nice post. rep

Ohh and the same LA Tech team is losing at home to Army.

Why would you post this in this thread?

Your attempts to make the Big 12 look bad fail again. Oklahoma won the game...handily.
