Oubre expected to be a Jayhawk
Grant Milner http://media.247sports.com/Uploads/A...4/7_984592.jpg Kelly Oubre, one of the most-heralded recruits in the class of 2014, will announce his college decision on twitter this afternoon. Kelly Oubre is expected to fill the empty shoes of Andrew Wiggins at Kansas. The five-star wing tweeted Monday night that he would have “big news tomorrow.” Kansas and Kentucky were known to be the favorites to land Oubre’s services, but he took an official visit to Kansas last weekend for the Jayhawks’ midnight madness event. He has since canceled his visit to Kentucky for Big Blue Madness on October 18th, and is likely to pick Kansas as his college destination. It appears the Wildcats just weren’t able to overcome the persistent recruiting effort by the Jayhawks with Oubre. The 6-foot-7 shooting guard is rated as the top overall player in the state of Nevada and the second best shooting guard in the class of 2014 by the 247Sports Composite Rankings. Oubre is also considered as the eighth best play in the entire 2014 class. The Crystal Ball closed at 88 percent in favor of the Jayhawks, to just 12 percent in favor of Kentucky. Jerry Meyer was the first to pick Kansas. "Kansas has been long considered the strong leader with Oubre," said Meyer, Director of Basketball Scouting. "Kentucky made some in roads but it looks like his visit to Kansas last weekend completely won him over. "If Kansas does indeed land him, they are getting an elite wing prospect. Oubre has as a dynamic and versatile game as anyone in the class." If Oubre does pick Kansas, he will be the first commitment in the class of 2014 for Bill Self. |
We're like the new Kentucky. Only without any down years.

Big year for Chiefs/Jayhawks fans who like Bray's.

I gotta wonder what Brannen Green, especially Andrew White thinks of this. We keep recruiting over Andrew White, not saying it's a bad thing. I actually think AW3 is the early leader in the clubhouse to get minutes over Greene. But we will have three legit "3"s next year assuming Oubre is a Jayhawk.

I'm sure this won't be a popular opinion but his shot reminds me a little of Kareem Rush. Super smooth.

Love having a lefty back in the fold! Also, Cliff Alexander will announce in November. He also is saying he doesn't care who comes back and who doesn't and the "package deal" with Jaquan Lyle means nothing. Assuming Selden, Embiid, Black, and Wiggins are gone, we could still add ESPN's #2 player (Miles Turner - C) and #3 player (Cliff Alexander - PF) and have another scholarship left over. |
When Cal was getting all these top recruits yall accused him of cheating. I'm sure you'll hold self to the same standard?

Your program has always cheated, nothing has changed in recent years. |
Our newest commit locks down UK's prized recruits. Harrison twins got schooled by him and got angry about it! With his tenacious defense and wanting to score I could see why Cal wanted him. SUCK IT KENTUCKY! |
