I agree, give value to get value. That's the point of the first part of that post. Ask for a high value piece for a high value piece.

I actually like the way Moore is playing his hand right now.

He's basically telling the contenders that need bullpen help: Give us something impactful, that helps US for 2014, and we'll give you something in return that helps YOU for 2014. If you don't like the asking price for these guys, good luck trying to win a championship with the warmed-over corpse of Francisco Rodriguez, the average stuff of Casey Janssen, or Jason Grilli closing games for you.

If this were poker, I'd say Moore has a mid-range pair (8s or 9s). He's got a good hand, but the flop is out, several other hands are still in the pot, and a couple of over cards/draws are on the board.

Well let's hope he hits the straight on the river.

Don't need the nuts. Just need to get someone to fold when he shows them strength.

Lester getting 155 million, while Scherzer will get well over 200 million. How ****ing moronic is this going to get? For a guy who plays once a week. To think that you can sign 4 guys like Ervin Santana at the same price it would cost you to get one Max Scherzer is despicable. The Marlins were reeruned for giving Stanton the equivalent of Mitt Romney's net-worth, but at least he'll play every day.

Scherzer probably isn't getting THAT MUCH cash, unless he's signing a 9- or 10-year deal.

Rasmus is interesting. He's only 28, but hasn't really gotten on base like you'd like to see and isn't good against LHP. I wouldn't mind him being a backup plan should we run out of options...We'd be hoping he'd have a breakout season along with Moose and Hosmer, though.
