Getting on now. The queue was @ 467.

God of Thunder 12-18-2011 09:59 PM

Huffmeister 12-19-2011 10:23 AM

I'm level 14 or 15 (can't remember) Jedi Knight and I know my ship is just around the corner. I can almost smell it...

Pants 12-19-2011 10:44 AM

I'm level 12. Had just gotten to Republic Fleet (is that like TOR's version of Ironforge?) and did the Essels first thing. Looking forward to continuing the quest.

Huff, are you going Watchman, Combat or Focus?

Found this post regarding queues:

Quote:

We know there have been questions about the queues on the servers, so we wanted to take a moment to give you some insight.

In order to ensure that the service would be smooth and stable, we staged how we brought people into the Early Game Access program, adding people in waves. As you know, there are a lot of folks who want to play the game right now and we want to make sure they have lots of people to play with. Balancing this with figuring out when to bring new servers online to help alleviate the size of the queues is part art and part science. On one hand, you do not want people to wait too long – on the other hand, you want to make sure that people have a dynamic, engaging community to play with for long after launch. Either way, we have one clear objective – to make sure folks have fun.

While we can’t promise that there won’t ever be queues, we can promise you that we are taking this matter seriously and constantly reviewing them to make sure that they are manageable and reasonable.

Jeff Hickman, Executive Producer – Live Service
The lack of any kind of "queues will get better in the future" is a little discouraging. But I'm still hopeful that things will get better in the next couple of weeks. This game is awesome, but I could see myself not playing anymore if I have to wait even 30 minutes every time I want to play.

I really didn't know what I was doing, so I went Combat because it had the Dual Wield Specialization (or whatever it's called) in the first tier. After doing some research online, I may respec to something else.

I went combat as well but only because of the Ataru Form. That sounds like something I would want.

As far as queues go, I just put myself in well ahead of time and go do the stuff I have to do anyway.

And something else I was going to mention is that they desperately need to do something about the Auction House interface. It is absolutely horrendous. I was trying to find a piece for my head slot, but you can only search for 'Medium Armor'. So I had to go through about 10 pages of stuff to figure out that there weren't any available. And then, about halfway through, my droid came back from an Archaeology mission, which promptly closes the Auction House window.

I fully expect it to take a while for the server economy to get up and running and to take shape. But they absolutely need to redo the AH interface. Or open up the game to addons.

And speaking of addons, as a WoW addon junky, I really haven't missed them at all in SWTOR (except for the AH, of course).

I went Watchman on my knight. I did the combat tree in beta on my Marauder and didn't like it at all.

Really? That looked kinda meh to me. A bunch of stuff built around burning, right?

I didn't think much of it looking at it in beta, but now that I've tried it I really like it. Self heals, even small ones, are worth a lot. Merciless Zeal heals me when I crit bleeds. And I'll have a very short range force leap on a 3-second shorter cooldown, essentially making it part of my rotation.

Ran into a guy on Tatooine with the legacy name herpderp.

That's right. He raced to his 30s so he could reserve that for himself.

Herpderp.

Jesus.

How the Ataru Form? I pretty much just want to do the highest possible DPS and preferably burst (if that's even possible with a Sentinel).
