At least Jake managed to play a part in the creation of the biggest star in wrestling history. He'll always have a legacy, no matter how stained.

So that explains that.

(Watch that main event from last night and tell me they're really worried about wellness...)

Say what you want but atleast those guys are smart enough to not test positive.

I don't think it has anything to do with being 'smart'. Other than RVD (there was no way out of that), name one top talent who's been suspended as a legit title-holder or legit title-contender. And I mean main-eventer, not Jeff Hardy level.

Batista, Orton, Cena, Hun-Tor, all on Raw last night, all blown the fuck up.

For Regal's sake, I hope it was 'roids and not drugs/alcohol, because he's fought hard to overcome addiction.

You can say Hardy wasn't a main eventer, but every source out there says they planned to put the world title on him by summer at the latest. Some said it would be in the spring. And they just spent the last month building up Regal as the main heel on Raw, only to be forced to end it out of nowhere.

And not that I think Vince is cleaning up and cracking down and God Bless America, but it's kind of silly to say they don't care about wellness after they just changed their policy to where the wrestlers actually get strip-searched beforehand and are stared at while they pee. And it's not like Congress is breathing down their neck at the moment to force them into that change. Supposedly someone in development tried to cheat with a Whizanator or something, and they immediately changed the policy across the board. That's surprisingly pro-active.

The idea that WWE just ignores the test results if it's Cena or HHH or Batista has never been valid, because it would absolutely kill the credbility of the testing agency they're associated with if that info ever came out. And they've had to turn over all the test result records to the government anyway, so the lab would have to be in on it with WWE to get away with that. And that's even more unlikely.

I don't know Keg Triple H looks alot leaner then he did when he was younger. Orton also doesn't look like he uses roids he is cut and it looks natural.

I'm not saying that. I'm saying they're not tested.

Orton, Hun-Tor and Batista all gained about 20 pounds the week before Wrestlemania, and have maintained it ever since. If you go back and watch shows from early in the year, all 3 were noticably smaller. Maybe they did it naturally.

I think WWE was very serious about wellness up to about that point. I think now, for whatever reason, things have gotten back to 'normal'. Maybe they think they've weathered the storm, in terms of PR.

And a very weird ECW tonight.

The 'banter' between Taz and Adamle was almost painful during the main event.

That goes right back to the lab risking their own credibility. They're going to know guys aren't being tested. The guy who runs their program has been involved in top level sports testing for decades, and he's going to risk his reputation so that Batista can look bigger at a PPV?

The minute someone leaves the company and says something, or the government wants more records and matches up numbers to names, the jig would be up.

So it's either coincidence, great supplements or good genetics that's responsible for so many of their top superstars suddenly gaining 25 to 50 pounds of muscle out of the blue immediately before the biggest show of the year (while the midcard guys are generally all still "healthy")?

Right.

Mecca 05-21-2008 02:44 AM

Ok I don't think anyone gained 50lbs......Triple H was around 240 when he came back you don't really think he's 290 do you?

I'm sorry, I must have missed this incredible weight gain that Cena and these guys had. And so must have a lot of people, since I haven't seen anyone else mention these extra 25-50 pounds you're describing.

Also, steroids don't actually work like that. You don't just take a shot and put on 25 pounds of muscle in a week. They aren't magic beans.

I'm afraid I don't know what relevance a 6 year old clip of Cena and Kurt Angle has to this discussion. If you're saying Cena is smaller in that clip than he is now, that's nice, but Cena was also at his biggest and most jacked up prior to this clip. So what does that mean?
