Agreed. Loved the scene early in the movie when they rescued the female CIA agent. The car chase, particularly how they escaped, was awesome!

Watched Hitman. I'm usually a Timothy Olyphant fan, but this was awful. Bourne wannabe and wasn't particularly good at being unoriginal.

Re-watched Annapolis. I forgot how damn good that show is. Franco is really excellent.

Saw "Battleship" today. It was better than I expected it to be.
Lots of shit getting 'blowed up'. If you can get past the war propaganda and the fact that it stands in no danger of a "Best Picture" nomination...you'll enjoy it.

Saw this and thought the same - I was actually shocked I liked it. Watched "Bidesmaids", "Iron Sky", "Hangover II" and latest "Ghost Rider" all were pretty good.

Watched "Drive" the other night.

Albert Brooks is in it... but it wasn't funny at all!

Avengers - meh. I thought it was pretty slow and boring.

Knuckles - Instant play on Netflix about some Irish gypsies bare knuckle, fair fighting over some inbred-fused family drama.

I was entertained and came away feeling fantastic about how long my arms are.

Saw it...wasn't bad. If you liked Borat, it wasn't quite as good, but I still enjoyed it. I didn't see Bruno, but I heard it was better than Bruno.

I loved Borat.
I think I fell asleep on Bruno though.

I guess, what I was trying to say, is that it's somewhere in between Borat and Bruno, or so I've heard. I agree that it wasn't quite as good as Borat, but it was still decent.

It was drawn out but i watched the whole thing. Wasn't bad, just not a movie i'd watch again.

I'll see this. I like Anne Hathaway, and I know she's got a good voice, though I'm not convinced by this trailer. And while I'm not a Hugh Jackman fan, I know he's done a few stints in musicals on Broadway. But I'm nervous about Russell Crowe as Javert. I'm going to be royally pissed if he ends up speaking/burping most of his lyrics, a la Gerard Butler in Phantom.

I'ts not a "reboot". This is a film version of the musical/opera. That hasn't been done yet.

Really? You liked it? I just watched it yesterday and was sorely disappointed. It seemed like a Hangover/American Pie wannabe movie that just didn't develop any kind of interesting storyline, and really lacked in character depth. Most everything that happened was really laughably stupid to the point that it was impossible to just disengage the brain and enjoy a stupid movie. Even for a silly party movie.

There really isn't anything good I can say about this movie, yet I couldn't stop watching it.

I tend to enjoy bad acting at an hour 20, hour 30, but 2 hours pushed it for me even though I understand he was trying to emphasize the deterring situation. It was the twisted that mitigated the horrific acting and ultimately kept me watching.

Yup. Really wish they had cast Mark Strong instead. Crowe is going to be awful as Javert.

I can definitely see Crowe as Javert. I think he'll be fine. My problem is Hathaway annoys me. I really don't know why, but I almost can't watch anything she does.

Just finished The Raid: Redemption

BADASS, one of the best action movies Ive seen in a looong time.

Russell Crowe isn't a stranger to music. He's been involved in a handful of music projects. Here's a sample:

I know he sings, but I'm very concerned about his voice for the role.

I'm sure it is, atleast some of the problem was surely me, just dont think i was ready to immerse myself into that kinda movie... it requires an adult attention span, you definitely have to 'keep up'.

Yeah, but it's not going to be in a theatre where he has to project as much, I don't think. If you're Javert live in a theatre in front of an audience it's one thing, but it seems like it would be easier on a set where they could add production.
Not that I know that much about singing.

Saw "Pariah" last night. Excellent indie film.
Deeply emotional.

I know it has been said a few times already, but Drive is SOOOO badass.

So badass that I have been driving with toothpicks in my mouth since I watched it.

The slowest movie I remember that I have watched multiple times, in fact I bought the DVD is "The Assasination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford" starring Brad Pitt, Casey Affleck, Sam Rockwell, Jeremy Renner, Sam Shepard, Mary Louise Parker and others. It's 160 minutes and I gave it a 10.

And as a huge Wes Anderson fan, i'm shocked this one has slipped under the radar.
"Moonrise Kingdom" - fantastic cast (of course Billy Murray and Jason Schwartzman). Looks really funny - if you like Anderson's style.

I follow you now.. and I totally agree -- I was just talking to my buddy the other day with the first of the month sirens were going off -- get that creepy feeling like everything is going to go dark with ashes falling from the sky and pyramid head's blade dragging the concrete in the distance.

Seeing MIB3 tonight because it's free. Then Prometheus tomorrow night.

I rarely watch movies in 3D these days. Avatar has been the only worth the extra dough out of the ones I've seen. That being said, I'm going to see it tonight in 3D at 10. I'm prettaaaaah excited.

Act of Valor is impressive, intense and recommendable. 4/5 stars

Hearing the dialogue on Prometheus was horrible but the special effects were pretty good.

Heh.... Just got all sorts of geeky. Figured out how to make a random title generator in my movie spreadsheet. So when Mrs. FMB! and I want to watch a movie, we can do it by opening the spreadsheet and it'll give us 10 random options from the entire collection (or however many I tell it to).

Drive was okay.

Goon was actually pretty good.

Apparently, its strategy was to build up momentum in the limited release role by word of mouth. I'm looking forward to its wide release, but I don't think there's a lot of momentum building, as far as I can tell.

That's usually the case for Anderson, no? I don't remember any buzz for Fantastic Mr. Fox, Rushmore or The Royal Tenenbaums. The Life Aquatic is the only movie I can think of that had a lot of momentum going in.

I wanted to see Moonrise Kingdom this week, but the closest theater showing it is too far to make it work with scheduling. There isn't really any other movie out that I have interest in seeing.

I want to see this. 89% on RT.

That looks good. Kind of good to see Aubrey Plaza do that role. I feel like she's sort of stagnated on Parks and Rec.
