Ha! Steamer 600 likes Johnny Gio to a tune of 2.2 WAR. (Inserts gif of person laughing uncontrollably).

It does say we will burn 700ab on Peguero and Moises Siera (who?) to the tune of.....0 war. Generating no value

Dillon Gee is the most likely Mets pitcher to go in trade, followed by Jon Niese and Bartolo Colon, according to Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com (via Twitter). The Rangers aren’t enamored with the Mets’ pitching but the Royals and Twins have been mentioned as possibilities.

Gee is fine, but KC can do better on the free agent market

I thought there were rumblings that he was falling quickly out of favor with Tampa. What makes you think his price tag would be so high?

He's one year removed from the AL ROY and has 5 years of team control left. The trade price for Myers, even after a down year, would still be way too high for us.

True, although his age and low salary are a major asset. He's under club control through 2020.

AJ Ellis would be a nice backup catcher to Salvy. He's terrible as a hitter, but good defensively.

Or prospects.

Rather keep Kratz than Ellis.

That signing and the Storm Davis signing are what ran John Scheurholz out of town.

The Braves continue to get hits on both Justin Upton and Evan Gattis, Joel Sherman of the New York Post tweets. The Giants, Rangers, Royals, and Padres have interest in both players, while the Mariners are only interested in the former.

The Royals are indeed interested in Upton and Gattis but remain disinterested in parting with Danny Duffy or Yordano Ventura, Andy McCullough of the Kansas City Star tweets.

Hootie 12-10-2014 01:39 PM

Shit, give us both for Yordano and it's a deal. Sign Santana and we're fine. Let Atlanta deal with his inevitable TJ surgery

Free agent infielder Rafael Furcal could be a fit for the Royals on a minor league deal thanks to his connection with GM Dayton Moore, according to Tim Dierkes of MLBTR (via Twitter).

This is where I wish the Royals had done the exploratory surgery on Zimmer's should a year early, found the extra piece of bone, and done the debridement procedure then.

Because if that happens, and Zimmer is healthy for all of last year, he's either a known commodity/rotation piece, or he's a better trade chip. Maybe they feel comfortable moving Manaea or Duffy at that point. But oh well...

This looks rather nice, I think.

Side note:

I'm glad we're getting encouraging winter reports on Miguel Almonte. He was good in the AFL and is pitching well in his Winter League, too.

Have a feeling he's going to either be an important trade chip or move up the prospect rankings a few spots by default before the winter is over.

Sexy but mean. Like the Manning photoshops when he was a free agent.

I throw up every time I remember doing those. It was a dark period in my life.
