The images caught within the smoke are interesting, hopefully somebody isn't pulling a photoshop prank on us(no offense intended Baby Lee). If it's legit, then the monster has some mindreading capacity, kinda related to The Others who only took the good people, they just know.

Any input on the last line from the computer? "You need to com", before we got cut off. Wasn't sure that last character was an "m" or "n" either. "You need to come get me" perhaps?

watching the episode last night, I know I saw a woman in the smoke- I didn't catch anything else, so I don't think it's photoshopped

Ok, here's my theory as to the whole "Lost" series:

It's purgatory.

Everyone actually died during the plane crash and they're now "in between" heaven and hell. What they do on the island determines where they'll go next.

When they are ready to "move on", they're taken by the Others.

It explains why everything ties together from each characters past, why the Others immediately take the children, why Locke can now walk etc.

I was somewhat wavering on this theory until last night. Ecko choosing to be a "priest" could ultimately lead to his salvation.

Take it for what it's worth....

it's a theory, but I don't buy it

1. I did not post them. Got them from link on hometheaterforum.com
2. As I did not post them, and as I did not record the show, I cannot swear to the veracity of each shot.
3. Watching in HD, I certainly did see a number of images running through the smoke as it faced off against Mr. Eko. And I got the distinct sense the smoke was 'auditing' him.

I think that something like that will happen. But as a last resort, if and when this show starts tanking, they will go that route. Kind of like the last season of Dallas and Roseanne (it was all a dream)

I think that's a very good/solid theory.

I need to get HD because I didn't see any of those images. I did get the sense the monster smoke was searching and spared him.

The 'they're dead' angle was denied by the writers way early on.
My best guess is that there is some kind of utopian experiement that has either been protected or destroyed by the technology it developed. So far, strong electromagnetic power and nano-tech.
And my speculation is that the nano-tech has gotten out of hand, and it is using the electomagnetic power to assemble avatars it feels are more suitable to the aims of the original project.

There were most definitely images in the smoke last night. I noticed them the first time through, then rewound the tivo to make sure I saw what I thought I saw (faces). I can't verify the accuracy of the images in the screenshots (haven't had time to slo-mo it), but I can definitely confirm that there were images/faces in the smoke.

Had to laugh at this post over at TwoP

"Hand me my Jesus stick...it's the one with the 23rd psalm and 'Bad Ass Mother F@cker' written on it."
