It's not either/or. Every sushi restaurant serves both cooked and raw sushi.

I'll agree, that's a pretty good sign...

And why has nobody posted a pic of "Sushi Girl" (Google it!) in this thread?

Had a Mexican roll for lunch. It was really good.

I love exploring the house specialty rolls where ever I go. I have a few favorites...

Lawrence: Wa - Love the XXX Roll. Best roll I've ever had.
Yokohama - Love the Heart Attack, Jayhawk, Crunchy Munchy

Leawood: Sushi Gin - Love their Tsunami and L.A. Rolls.

Best experience I've had ever? Whatever it was that Troy (Big Daddy) ordered from his favorite guy when I was teaching out on the West Coast and hanging out with him and Li'l Momma. Great food, great time.

I'm going to be in Lawrence on Sunday for the kansas half marathon...I think I'll try that place.

My favorite place is in Gladstone at 72nd & North Oak Tfwy - Wasahi. Try the "Last Samurai Roll" if you ever get there.

Mmmm sushi.

Here are my top 3 Fav's:

1) Coast in Chi-town. (http://coastsushi.net/coastsushi/default.asp) Best Sushi I've ever had, hands down. They made a roll for us that wasn't on the menu, and it seriously, was an explosion of taste in the mouth. Unbelievable.

2) Purple in Greensville, SC. (http://www.thepurplebistro.com/) Quaint little place, that has the best Chef I've ever seen. His house roll is to die for, and he cuts them in squares. Very delicious.

3) Mukini's in Sacramento. (http://www.mikunisushi.com/en/) Great environment, and the rolls were so good, it was a rare treat. I hear any Mukini's is divine.

I have yet to find a really good sushi place in KC.

Most of them I've been to in KC are pretty meh. Wasahi (that I listed above) is really good though.

Excellent. I'll put it on my list to try. I am probably only 10 minutes or so from that area too. Thanks for the recommendation.

Kai and Haruno are the best in town!

Had Sakura today for lunch, ate off of the sushi train and ordered some tuna nigiri which was excellent and some beef udon. The rolls were above average, had some las vegas rolls. a crab and avocado roll which were fantastic. The Nigiri was VERY good. The service will keep me coming back, very attentive and interactive, i love that.

A lot of sushi here in Northern VA. Went out a few times a week for sushi with the lunch crowd at work but had never tried it before moving from Philly fifteen years ago. Got my kids hooked on it - my older daughter is adventurous and will eat whatever I order. Ordering anything expensive for my son is a waste of time because he shoves it in like a Hobart garbage disposal. My younger daughter is still on the basics but creative - she likes me to roll it at home and put kid food in there (I've become quite proficient in cheeseburger roll, chicken finger roll, and hot dog nigiri with "electrical tape". My faves are Dynamite Roll, Vegas Roll, Sake, Salmon Sashimi, Lobster Salad Roll, and Brown Rice Chesapeake Roll with cooked crabmeat.
